For the Hauraki Gulf and for Bream Head to Cape Colville:
Today: Northerly 15 knots, rising to 20 knots for a time this afternoon and early evening. Slight sea becoming moderate for a time this afternoon and early evening. Cloudy periods and fair visibility in occasional showers.
Tomorrow: Tending northeast from morning, rising to 25 knots gusting 35 knots in the afternoon and to 30 knots gusting 40 knots in the evening. Slight sea becoming rough in the afternoon. Cloudy with fair visibility in scattered showers, turning to rain with poor visibility by evening.

Outlook:
Saturday:Northerly easing to 15 knots in the morning, then becoming westerly 30 knots in the afternoon or evening. Showers.
Sunday: Southwest easing to 15 knots. Occasional showers.
Monday: Southwest 15 knots. Few showers.

Swell forecast to midnight Monday:
East Coast: Northeast half a metre, rising to northerly 1 metre Friday and 1.5 metres Saturday. Easing below 1 metre Sunday.
West Coast: Southwest 2 metres, rising to 3 metres late Saturday and 4 metres Sunday, then easing to 2 metres Monday.
Northwest 1 metre developing Friday, dying out Saturday.
